Customer:
Dagger Diving

Location: York

Commercial Diving Company:
Marine and Civil Engineering Services UK Wide Diving and Marine Solutions.

Dagger Diving Services Ltd provides commercial diving services to the marine engineering, renewables and maritime industries.

Challenge:

The customer was finding the current system, difficult to use which was causing them problems throughout the business. Oak Tree were required to review the current management system framework and verify against ISO (9001, 45001, 14001) standard requirements. With a view of providing them with recommendations as to how the system could be improved. Activities were concluded on a remote basis with approved data access to their systems. Thereafter, a full detailed report was provided which included recommendations for system improvements.

The management system structure was disjointed and overly complicated with excessive numbered folders and cover pages which simply added no benefit. Top-level and supporting documentation were being retained out-with the HSEQ system and therefore, essential retrieval of documentation for day-to-day use was problematic. Content within procedures was excessive based on current organisational set-up and scope, and some failed to effectively meet standard requirements.

Solutions:

Recommended the management system framework and content be overhauled, streamlined, and enhanced to ensure valid and effective for use. All HSEQ and supporting documentation to be housed in one location and creation of Master Register for a central point of use. As the customer wanted to develop their own management system knowledge, they were keen to implement the changes themselves. Therefore, sample management system structure and management system documents were provided to assist them in their efforts.

Benefits:

A management system that is effective, adds value, easy to use and ultimately supports business activities.

Customer Feedback:

We are really pleased with everything you have done, it’s very much what we were hoping for.
